Big Ten commission Tony Petitti set up shop Monday morning in the Timberwolves/Lynx coaching room at Target Center.Petiti opened the door on his temporary office to a few reporters, including the Pioneer Press, for a string of interviews during women’s and men’s basketball media days early this week.He discussed name, image and likeness (NIL), conducting Big Ten events in the Twin Cities, and his relationship with Gophers Athletics Director Mark Coyle.Here’s a condensed Q&A with Petitti, who was hired as commissioner in April.The decision for the Big Ten to come to the Twin Cities for this event was made before your time. Man charged with fatal stabbing of roommate in St. Paul

When a 37-year-old man and his girlfriend argued in St. Paul, the man’s 57-year-old roommate intervened and the two men fought. The older man fatally stabbed the younger one, according to a murder charge filed Monday.Randall B. Williams died at Regions Hospital on Friday.Officers responded to a report of a stabbing about 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Paul’s Snelling-Hamline neighborhood.Williams and his girlfriend of about six weeks were arguing over some missing money, the criminal complaint said. The woman later reported to police that one of Williams’ roommates, Alvin Rozell Stafford Sr., told Williams to leave her alone. Another roommate came out and tried to separate Stafford and Williams.Williams’ girlfriend went back into her room, and heard the argument between Stafford and Williams continue. This year, they're once again filling their gardens with ghouls, as voting opens for the second annual Glens Falls Halloween House Competition. New cocktail lounge opening in Glens Falls

GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Golden Monkey Lounge, an elevated cocktail bar, is opening at 58 South Street in Glens Falls. The lounge is set to have its soft opening on Friday, October 20, according to its Facebook page. Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! This is the same place Glens Falls Bagels used to be located until the eatery moved to South Glens Falls. The move was announced in late April, after the business’ previous home (next door to the former Irish Pizza) came under new ownership.Every Tuesday night, the bartenders will be competing in a mixology challenge to craft the perfect cocktail. The lounge will have specialty cocktails, sharables, desserts, and board games. Stephentown man arrested for menacing a Trooper

STEPHENTOWN, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A 71-year-old is facing charges for allegedly menacing a police officer on October 1. State Police charged William Cornell with second-degree assault, menacing a police officer or peace officer, and criminal mischief in the third degree. Police say Cornell came to the door armed with a long gun.Investigations determined that Cornell was involved in a verbal dispute. He reportedly threw an item that injured the victim. The victim left the scene and called for law enforcement and medical assistance. Police seized the long gun and arrested Cornell. He was arraigned at the Grafton Town Court and remanded to the Rensselaer County Correctional Facility without bail.
