Kim wants N. Korea to make more nuclear material for bombs

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has called for his nuclear scientists to increase production of weapons-grade material to make bombs to put on his increasing range of weapons.The report in state media Tuesday followed a series of missile launches — seven launch events in this month alone — and rising threats to use the weapons against his enemies. North Korea’s weapons tests and U.S.-South Korea military exercises have intensified in a tit-for-tat cycle, underscoring heightened tensions in the region. Officials say North Korea could further up the ante in coming weeks or months with more provocative displays of its military nuclear program, possibly including its first test detonation of a nuclear device since September 2017. 2 dead, 1 critical after car flips over embankment on Stevenson Expressway, ejecting passengers

CHICAGO — Two people are dead and one is critical in the hospital after a vehicle flipped over an embankment, ejecting its passengers on the Stevenson Expressway Monday evening.According to the Chicago Fire Department, the one car crash happened around 8:05 p.m. on the Stevenson Expressway when a single car crashed into an inbound embankment and flipped, ejecting three passengers from the vehicle.When CFD arrived on scene, one of the men, a 30-year-old, was dead on arrival. Another man, 26, was taken to St. Anthony Hospital where he was also later pronounced dead.A 42-year-old man was taken from the scene in critical condition with multiple injuries to Mt. Sinai Hospital. Man shot and killed during domestic incident in Joliet, 1 in custody It is unclear what lead to the car flipping over the embankment.No other information is available at this time.

LOUIS - Following a deadly school shooting in Nashville, Tennessee, several St. Louis area schools reported hoax threats.“These are easy to investigate,” said Jay Greenberg, special agent in charge for the St. Louis office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. “We will eventually find whoever is behind a threat and hold them accountable.”Greenberg said arrests were made in the St. Louis area and beyond following a spike in hoax threats after a deadly school shooting at Central Visual and Performing Arts High School in St. Louis.“If we bring charges federally, it will be a felony that will stick on somebody’s record for the rest of their life,” Greenberg said. SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – A new report out from the FBI shows Americans lost more than $10 billion to cyber criminals in 2022.“At the end of the day, all fraud boils down to this: it’s a lie to steal your money,” said David Nanz, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Springfield, Illinois Office.Nanz says fraud schemes are constantly evolving.“The fraud perpetrators are just growing their schemes,” he said.
