MANILA, Philippines (AP) — USA Basketball will play for a fifth consecutive Olympic men’s basketball gold medal next summer.The Americans secured an automatic berth into the Paris Games on Sunday night as one of the two highest finishers from the Americas Region at the Basketball World Cup. The clinching became official when Serbia beat the Dominican Republic, a game that went final during the last second-round game for the U.S. against Lithuania.Win or lose Sunday, the Americans already were assured of a spot in the World Cup quarterfinals. 5 injured in 3 vehicle crash in Aurora Saturday

DENVER (KDVR) -- One person suffered life-threatening injuries after a three-vehicle crash in Aurora late Saturday night, according to Aurora Fire Rescue. Four others were also injured.AFR responded to the crash near the intersection of Illiff Avenue and Chambers Road around 11:40 p.m.Crews found three vehicles were involved, with two people trapped. One of the two that were extricated suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital via ambulance.Four others were taken to local hospitals with non-serious injuries, AFR said. Aurora Police were investigating the crash.

Investigation continues after male body found in Miami Gardens canal

Miami Gardens Police continue an investigation after someone noticed a dead body in a canal Sunday morning. The call came in at approximately 7:13 a.m. when a passerby saw a male body down in the canal unconscious and not breathing along the 2700 Block of Northwest 206th Street. Major I-95 multi-vehicle accident in Miami sends 3 to hospital

An accident has been cleared up after a major crash spanning across all five lanes closed the highway for much of Sunday morning, sending three people to the hospital.Miami Fire Rescue responded to the incident around 6:20 a.m., where upon arrival they found three vehicles including an 18-wheeler that were involved in the crash. The wreck happened southbound near Northwest 62nd Street. A good samaritan stopped to help the victims while he was on his way to work. “I noticed the jackknifed tractor-trailer when I looked to the right, I could see this vehicle and I saw that no fire rescue or police personnel were on scene,” said Tony Navarro. “So, I immediately rendered assistance as the first responder until fire rescue arrived.”Two patients, one male and one female, were transported in serious condition to Ryder Trauma. NEW DELHI (AP) — India’s moon rover has completed its walk on the lunar surface and been put into sleep mode less than two weeks after its historic landing near the lunar south pole, India’s space mission said.“The rover completes its assignments. It is now safely parked and set into sleep mode,” with daylight on that part of the moon coming to an end, the Indian Space Research Organization said in a statement late Saturday.The rover’s payloads are turned off and the data it collected has been transmitted to the Earth via the lander, the statement said.The Chandrayaan-3 lander and rover were expected to operate only for one lunar day, which is equal to 14 days on Earth.“Currently, the battery is fully charged.
