With key losses due to graduation on both sides of the ball, St. Thomas coach Glenn Caruso knew his team’s margin for error was much smaller than it was a year ago when the Tommies went undefeated in capturing the Pioneer Football League title.On Saturday at O’Shaughnessy Stadium, the Tommies needed all but the final seconds of the game to pull out a 35-28 victory over Morehead State in the conference opener for both teams.Freshman quarterback Tak Tateoka, who took over as the Tommies’ starter, threw a 26-yard touchdown pass to Jacob Wildermuth on the Tommies’ final drive as they overcame an anemic offensive first half to stretch their home winning streak to 28 games.The Tommies scored all 35 of their points in the second half, after Caruso’s long list of complaints from the first half led to an extended stay in the halftime locker room. A man is dead and another is in the hospital after a shooting overnight in Lakewood.Lakewood police were called to a shooting in the 9000 block of West Virginia Avenue just after 12:30 a.m. Saturday, where they found two men with gunshot wounds, according to a Lakewood Police Department news release.Both victims were taken to a hospital. Female victim killed after multiple people stabbed in Berkeley Hills

(KRON) -- A person died after a series of stabbings Saturday afternoon in Berkeley Hills, the Berkeley Police Department said. Around 12:33 p.m., officers received multiple calls about a female stabbing victim on the 1000 block of Overlook Road.Another call to police reported a subject being chased down the street with a knife, according to BPD. Before police arrived at the scene, the suspect drove away in a stolen vehicle. Toddler killed in Vallejo shooting Officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle and initiated a car chase. Other BPD officers remained at the scene on Overlook Road. They found two more stabbing victims.BPD learned one of the victims was a male who was being chased down the street.
