WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) — A gunman killed two people at a construction site in New Zealand's largest city of Auckland on Thursday, as the nation prepared to host games in the FIFA Women's World Cup soccer tournament, authorities said.Police said there were also multiple injuries during the incident, which took place near the hotel where Team Norway has been staying. DENVER (KDVR) -- A K-9 from the Castle Rock Police Department died unexpectedly last week, and the cause of death remains unknown.The department announced Maverick's death Friday in a Facebook post, saying, "Rest easy, good boy."Maverick, a Belgian Malinois, was almost 4 years old. One person was killed and another person was injured after a shooting occurred inside a Walmart in Florida City that led police to take one person into custody. Miami-Dade Police have taken over the investigation into the incident, which occurred just before 3 p.m., Wednesday at the large retailer located at 33501 S. Dixie Highway. Investigators said two people suffered gunshot wounds during the incident.According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, a third person required medical attention for a panic attack resulting from the incident.Investigators said a woman drove herself to the hospital to be treated for a head injury she suffered when she slipped and fell. The mother of a baby left on a sidewalk in Dorchester last week is now speaking out, describing heartstopping moments when police say someone stole a truck with her child inside. The incident happened on Friday near the intersection of Geneva Avenue and Westville Street. Police said the thief in this case was riding a bike in the area around 3 p.m. He then got off the bike, according to police, and jumped into the truck. Surveillance video obtained by 7NEWS showed the thief drove roughly one block before getting out of the truck and leaving the baby in a car seat on the curb near Leroy Street. Another person quickly arrived to pick up the baby. About an hour later, police said officers located the stolen truck on Columbia Road.Though no one was hurt, the baby’s mother told 7NEWS her daughter is just 22 days old. The mother said she and her family were standing steps from the truck when it was taken and said the situation was terrifying as she was unable to get to...

Edgartown man faces federal charges in connection with Falmouth bank robbery

An Edgartown man accused of robbing a bank in Falmouth is now facing federal charges in addition to state charges related to the armed robbery in April, officials said.Petar Petyoshin, 40, was charged with one count of armed bank robbery, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Massachusetts. Petyoshin has been in custody since state charges were filed against him in late May.Court documents allege Petyoshin entered the Rockland Trust Bank on April 8 around 9 a.m., where he brandished a weapon, zip-tied employees and customers, claimed to have a bomb and stole a customer’s car to flee the scene.
